The Used Car Technician is responsible for inspecting, servicing and repairing used vehicles for resale as assigned by the Service Advisor or the Service Manager.  The ideal Used Car Technician has an unrestricted driver's license, clean driving record, three years of dealer-level or large facility experience, ability to work on a variety of vehicle makes and models, post secondary automotive training, is ASE certified (or is willing to obtain certification), and has a strong technical performance record. The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

-- Expertly diagnose issues based upon experience, analysis, and testing
-- Maintain leading-edge knowledge of automotive diagnosis technology, digital manuals, and reference materials
-- Possess an increasingly broad knowledge of how vehicles' complex components work and interact
-- Perform routine service inspections, test, and lubricate engines and other major components
-- Repair automobiles and light trucks that run on gasoline, electricity, or alternative fuels, such as ethanol
-- Adapt to rapidly changing technologies in the automotive industry, as well as in the diagnostics arena
  High School Diploma or GED
  Must be at least 18 years old
  Post high school tech school or ASE certification desired
  One year experience in a dealership or large facility repair organization
  An impressive work ethic
  Neat, clean, and professional appearance
  Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
  Can operate a standard-transmission vehicle
